The Shirley Local is a new community newspaper dedicated to telling the stories that matter most to Shirley residents, businesses and families.

Since The Shirley Volunteer, a weekly that for decades served as a trusted chronicle of town life before it ceased publication is gone, a group of community members decided to start a new small local paper.  

The idea for The Shirley Local began when seven women from the community saw a need for a modern, independent source of news that reflects Shirley’s activities and news.

United by a passion for civic engagement, they launched the publication to provide current reporting, celebrate local events and connect the community with what is going on.

The Shirley Local LLC is woman-owned and operated and based in Shirley, Massachusetts in the Phoenix Park Mill at 2 Shaker Rd., D101.
